Team Askin Technologies, Inc. (TATI), a Woman-Owned 8a Small Disadvantaged Business IT services and solutions provider, today announced that the company was selected to provide Help Desk support services to the United States Department of Labor (DOL) Office of the Assistant Secretary of Administration and Management (OASAM) Information Technology Center (ITC).
The new five-year contract is TATI’s first contract with the DOL. Once the contract transition period has been completed TATI will move Tier 1 front line support offsite to a secure partner facility in the metropolitan DC area. The proposed solution consists of Remedy 7.0 and Cisco IPCC using a host of remote diagnostic and support tools via secure connection. “Team Askin is very pleased to be working closely with the ITC to transition from a classic Help Desk to a more feature rich Service Desk model based on ITIL service management processes and principles,” said James Rivera, Director of Enterprise Support Services for TATI and serving as DOL OASAM Program Manager for this important effort. “Gartner is engaged with DOL and our team to gather information about the migration approach we are taking to transform the previous OASAM ITC Help Desk to a full featured Services Desk under a managed services model. We are delighted to be partnering with OASAM ITC in this effort to be recognized as an innovative best in class IT service organization within the Federal Government.”
Tier 2 service for desk-side support will be performed at the Department of Labor headquarters in Washington DC. The solution is designed to be very scalable and facilitate potential consolidation of multiple DOL help desks in the future.
